Membership provides many exciting learning opportunities for novices and seasoned gardeners alike

Monthly club meetings are held Tuesday mornings September through June and feature workshops and guest speakers. Conferences, workshops and committee meetings are held various times throughout each month. Members share interests in gardening, designing floral arrangements, participating in flower shows, photographing gardens and practicing conservation. Through our membership with the Garden Club of America, we have access to conferences featuring world-renowned speakers on the forefront of horticulture, conservation and current legislation. 2021/2022 Village Garden Club Programs, Meetings and Conferences

September features Frederick Law Olmsted and the Landscapes of Meaning with speaker Susan M. Rademacher National Olmsted scholar, a party for the 100th Village Garden Club year FUNdraiser, and the Shirley Meneice horticultural virtual conference.

October at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden art exhibit.

November presents All the Presidents Gardens with speaker Marta McDowell, landscape history and horticulture teacher at the New York Botanical Garden, a club flower show titled Olmsted Garden Appreciation and Design, and a virtual conference on conservation.

December offers the holiday tea and floral arrangements sale, and a floral design virtual conference.

January is about styling flowers for photography, and a club photography show.

February features a miniature garden workshop with speaker Peg Baycer, and the Garden Club of America National Affairs and Legislation conference.

March presents garden history/design, and a photography study.

April presents speaker Kathleen Tessaro on floral design, and the Garden Club of America Annual Meeting.

May features a tour of park planning and tree history with speaker Nate Briggs director of parks and public works, the Sewickley annual outdoor floral market, and a club horticulture show.

June has the Village Garden Club annual meeting, and the Sewickley garden tour.
